Peron will look to continue her near perfect start to her career by winning the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara at Eagle Farm racecourse this Saturday June 22, 2013.
The three-year-old has won six of her seven race starts so far and has earned more than $158,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.
Peron won her most recent start in the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic by an impressive two lengths and will be looking to replicate that performance when she takes on Group 1 competition for the first time in the 2013 Tattersall’s Tiara.
Trainer John Thompson is confident that she can win the 2013 Tattersall’s Tiara, just like her stable mate Pear Tart did 12 months ago.
”All over she’s a better horse than Pear Tart,” Thompson said.
”It’s just been a crying shame she wasn’t able to get into some of those earlier black-type races.
”This filly is all class. She showed that (in the Gai Waterhouse Classic).
“Class goes a long way and she’s a very good filly still on the way up.
“If she gets into the Tiara in good condition she’ll give it a real shake.”
Peron will likely be ridden by regular jockey Michael Cahill in the 2013 Tattersall’s Tiara this weekend.
“She’s a very good filly and will be a big chance next week,” Cahill said following her Gai Waterhouse Classic win.
